Overview:
Entry-level security administrator needed to assist in day-to-day operational security duties in a Cisco perimeter security infrastructure. Cisco ASA and Cisco VPN administration and troubleshooting are primary
Contract Length:
12+ Months
Responsibilities:
- Coordination with various IT operations teams.
- Perform Cisco security upgrades (including testing and roll-out).
- Respond and analyze security incidents and events.
- Build, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco IPSEC VPN tunnels.
- Monitor, maintain, and implement security policies on Cisco ASA firewalls.
Desired Experience
- Experience working with Cisco networking and security solutions, usually gained over 1-2 years (including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience using common networking tools to aid in troubleshooting, including nmap, wireshark, tcpdump, Solarwinds, and others.
- Basic understanding of proxy and URL filtering services for end users (Websense preferred).
- Basic understanding of anti-virus and client disk encryption technologies (McAfee preferred).
- Basic understanding of IDS/IPS and SIEM operation.
- Expertise in common networking concepts and protocols including, but not limited to:
- TCP/UDP ports and protocols.
The OSI model
Layer 2 switching concepts (spanning tree, VLAN trunking, etc.)
Layer 3 routing concepts (routing protocols, route summarization, redistribution, etc.)
Experience with common network tools (e.g. tcpdump, Wireshark)
Extremely process and detail oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Certifications:
- Cisco Security certifications (CCSP, etc.) greatly preferred.
- General security certifications (CISSP et al) preferred.
General professional network certifications (CCNP, JNCIS, et al) preferred.
