Overview:
The Security Administrator will maintain the integrity of the operating system environment; monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain systems; analyze exception-based events and will install, configure, and maintain technical security systems to support business processing requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 2 and 3 technical support as part of the security incident response program
- Install and troubleshoot systems and security devices to ensure functional objectives of the business are met.
- Implement and maintain system management software, as well as research, analyze, and implement software patches and hardware modifications to resolve deficiencies.
- Perform capacity and resource planning by assessing risks and developing contingency plan.
- Maintain production change control schedule and, when needed, assist in the change control..
- Support and schedule operating systems installations and upgrades, as well as layered software packages, in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Assist with the configuration and maintenance of physical and logical components.
- Monitor, analyze, and tune the technical system to achieve optimal performance levels.
- Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical system configuration and database library of all supporting documentation.
- Schedules, installs, upgrade and maintain operating systems and software.
- Assists development team with modeling, physical design and application tuning.
- Assists in the recommendation of strategies for data center and infrastructure management from business continuity, disaster recovery, monitoring, storage, security.
- Routinely audits hardware and software to ensure compliance with established security standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines.
- Implements and use backup and restore techniques.
- Mentors less experienced administrators on an ongoing and often formal basis.
- Monitor, lead and facilitate IT security events and/or incidents.
- Participate in projects as a security subject matter expert (SME).
- Rotating on call support.
Qualifications:
Prior experience, typically gained with 4 to 7 years, supporting IT operations or IT Security operations.
Experience typically gained with 2 to 5 years performing operations roles with security technologies (at least two of the following):
- Network Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- Network Security Platform (IPS).
- SIEM.
- Vulnerability scanning and remediation tracking Position Requirements: Clearance, etc..
- Security clearance required (secret), client will sponsor for Top Secret .
Desired Certifications:
CISSP or equivalent experience.
GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) or equivalent experience
