REQ 75 - BLUE COAT ENGINEER

The Blue Coat Engineer will be responsible for the following:

- Implement Blue Coat 9000, 600, 900 and Director devices for WAN optimization.

- Design an implementation plan that accounts for uptime and resource utilization.

- Document implementation.

- Design and document on-going management policies and procedures.

- Design and document escalation procedures.

- Constant communication and team work with the IT team.

- Project Management for the entire project.

- Constant knowledge transfer during the project with a final wrap up knowledge transfer.

Desired Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred

Desired Experience:

- 3-5 years of experience working with Blue Coat WAN optimization technologies, including Blue Coat 9000, 600, 900 and the Director series

- 3-5 years of experience with Cisco routers and switches working in a data center environment

- Extensive experience with networking concepts and protocols including but not limited to:

-The OSI Model

-Routing concepts and protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.)

-Switching concepts (VTP, Spanning tree, etc.)

-TCP/IP

-TCP and UDP ports and protocols

- Expertise designing and documenting escalation plans and procedures

- Strong presentation and verbal communication skills- Superior detailed writing skills

Desired Certifications:

- General security certifications (CISSP, CISA, etc.) greatly preferred.

- General network certifications (CCNA, etc.) preferred.

- Blue Coat WAN Optimization Certification.
